Kate Johnson

Global Marketing Director, Google Inc.

Kate Johnson is Google’s Global Director of Integrated Brand, Content, Sports Partnerships. She is responsible for developing and executing the company’s strategic approach to sports and entertainment marketing partnerships. Prior to Google, Johnson was Vice President of Global Partnership Marketing at Visa, overseeing partnerships with the IOC, FIFA, the NFL, and others. She began her career at IMG’s Global Consulting Group, building sponsorship marketing platforms for various clients.

In April, Johnson was a 2024 WISE ‘Woman of the Year,’ and recognized as one of the “Most Powerful Women in Sport” by Adweek om 2022 and 2017. She is also a recipient of the Sports Business Journal 40 Under 40 Award and the Leaders Under 40 Award. Johnson serves as an IOC Commission Member, and is a Trustee of the Women’s Sports Foundation, V-Foundation for cancer research board member, an advisor for the University of Michigan’s Sports Management Program, and Gatorade’s Women’s Advisory Board member.

A former professional rower, Johnson is a 2004 Olympic silver medalist, a 2002 World Champion, and a former World Record holder. She graduated from the University of Michigan, where she was a three-time first-team All-American and was inducted into the University of Michigan Hall of Honor.

Johnson is a metastatic breast cancer survivor and speaks about the positive impact being an athlete had on her journey. She is married with two sons and splits her time between the San Francisco Bay Area and Park City, Utah.
